The project, "Augmented Reality Simulator", is also entered in the 2014 Cornell Cup by Intel Competition.

On March 8, an ECE undergraduate student group presented their poster at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Illinois/Indiana Section conference hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The poster was "Augmented Reality Simulator" presented by Thor Smith on a Fall 2013 Senior Design project and entered into the 2014 Cornell Cup by Intel competition. The poster won 2nd place out of 14 posters in the poster competition. It describes the creation of an immersive heads-up display helmet designed to provide a 3D augmented collaborative simulation. Expected applications for this functionality include: education, gaming, virtual tours, and artistic performances where small teams of users can work together in the same augmented reality environment.
