Grad student Michael Johnson has won Best Paper Award at the IEEE Power and Energy Conference at Illinois (PECI) in Urbana, Illinois. The title was "Analysis and control of PMSG-based wind turbine with Vienna rectifier near current zero crossings". The conference promotes academic and research collaboration among IEEE Region 4 universities and provides an opportunity for participating companies and students to interact.

Michael is advised by Professor Dionysios Aliprantis.
