RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering established the award to recognize the influential role that academic leaders of engineering colleges play in creating the engineers of tomorrow.

Leah Jamieson, Purdue University's John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering and Ransburg Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has received the Rochester Institute of Technology's first Kate Gleason Medal for Leadership in Engineering Education. RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering established the award to recognize the influential role that academic leaders of engineering colleges play in creating the engineers of tomorrow. She will receive the award during a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (April 23) in the Xerox Auditorium in RIT's James E. Gleason Building. Following the awards ceremony, Jamieson will present a public lecture to students and faculty on her vision for the future of engineering education.
