A paper co-authored by ECE graduate students Abhronil Sengupta, Zubair Al Azim, postdoctoral research assistant Xuanyao Fong and Professor Kaushik Roy has been chosen as one of the articles in the Editor's Picks of the journal Applied Physics Letters (APL) for their latest issue. APL is the most highly cited journal in Applied Physics and the Editor's Picks represent the best of what APL has to offer. The paper was among 5 papers that were chosen from almost 80 papers published in the current issue.
Their paper is titled "Spin-orbit torque induced spike-timing dependent plasticity". The paper describes a nanoelectronic device that mimics the functionality of synapses in the human brain. It can be accessed at: http://scitation.aip.org/content/aip/journal/apl/106/9/10.1063/1.4914111
