Professor Alexandra Boltasseva has been appointed Editor-in-Chief to the Optical Society's "Optical Materials Express". Her term will begin January 1, 2016 and continue through 2018. She will also be a member of the OSA Board of Editors.

The journal's scope encompasses synthesis, processing and characterization of materials for applications in optics and photonics. Topics include: advances in novel optical materials; their properties, modeling, synthesis and fabrication techniques; how such materials contribute to novel optical behavior; and how they enable new or improved optical devices.
