Professor Ed Delp named Scientist of the Year by IS&T/SPIE
He was cited "for contributions to multimedia security and image and video compression." The groups are the Society for Imaging Science and Technology and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. Previous ECE winners are Jan Allebach (2004) and Charlie Bouman (2014). No other organization can boast more than one winner.
Professor Ed Delp has been named the 2015 Scientist of the Year by IS&T (Society for Imaging Science and Technology) and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. He was cited "for contributions to multimedia security and image and video compression."
This award is given annually at the Electronic Imaging Symposium to a member of the electronic imaging community who has demonstrated excellence and commanded the respect of his/her peers by making significant and substantial contributions to the field of electronic imaging via research, publications, or service.
