Global Engineering Ambassador Program

Are you interested in earning a travel grant to be used towards a study abroad program or a professional development conference?

Consider becoming a GEP Ambassador for 2018-2019 School Year!

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a registered graduate or undergraduate student at the Purdue West Lafayette Campus.
  • Individuals holding B-1 or B-2 Visas are prohibited from volunteering in any capacity at the university.
  • Applicant must be in academic good standing.
  • Applicant must have good communication skills.
  • Applicant must have professional appearance and conduct.
  • Applicant must have an interest in global programs.

Expectations:

  • Attend a GEP Ambassador Orientation/Training in August 2018
  • Assist in class visits and in the GEP Office when necessary
  • Present at prospective student fairs
  • Assist international visitors
  • Help with other GEP-hosted events such as the I2D Expo

Ambassadors participating in a minimum of 10 events during the fall 2018 semester will be awarded a $250 travel grant to be applied to a study abroad program or to a conference for professional development (activity must be approved by GEP). Ambassadors may earn additional travel grant funds at a prorated amount for each additional event above the minimum requirement. Travel grants may be saved until you choose to use them for a study abroad or professional development program. Applications will continue to be accepted until positions are filled.
