Title: Humans evolved to divide auditory attention
Abstract: In this talk I'll present an extremely preliminary overview of a perspective paper I'm writing on my sabbatical. In this paper I review evidence for how listening likely evolved in humans, consider how the soundscape has changed over the course of human history, and then speculate wildly about what this might mean for auditory technology in the (near) future.
