Marek Gibson
Biography
Marek Gibson is a senior in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering who has completed five Co-Op rotations. Four with Cummins in Seymour, IN at the Seymour Engine Plant (SEP) working as a Manufacturing Engineer. His final rotation was with Rolls-Royce as a Manufacturing Operations intern within the rotatives business unit in Indianapolis, IN.
During his time with Cummins and Rolls-Royce Marek was involved in every facet of the manufacturing process working rotations in Operations, Quality, Materials, HSE, and in the Manufacturing and Product Engineering groups. His project work covered a wide base including cost reduction, risk assessment, throughput improvements, quality control plans, product design, and other SQCDP goals. Marek’s favorite role was being able to work as a Test Validation and Performance Engineer in the testing cells for engines coming off the assembly line. In the future he will be returning to Rolls-Royce full-time as part of their Manufacturing Engineering Graduate Development Program.
At Purdue Marek is actively involved in several organizations. These include the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Lilly Scholars Network (LSN), Chess Club, Intramural Sports, and the Professional Practice Ambassadors (PPA). In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, and golfing.
