Professional Career
Professor Lawrence L. Ogborn worked with the ECE (formerly EE) Cooperative Education Program from January 1985 to May 1986 before becoming the ECE co-op Coordinator in September of 1987, when he also became the ECE Undergraduate Coordinator. He served in both these capacities until May of 1997. During that time, he also served as the Director of the ECE Laboratory Programs (1984-2002) and he was the Director of the Purdue University Electric and Hybrid Systems Development Laboratory from 1978 to 1984.
Co-op Impact
Professor Ogborn played a major role in the development of laboratory courses in ECE that helped to prepare ECE cooperative education students for their industrial work experiences. His dedication to student learning, both experiential and curricular, earned him The Beta Chapter of HKN (Eta Kappa Nu) Outstanding Teacher Award on three separate occasions (1970, 1972, 1980).
